Blackburn town centre is at an exciting point in its history. It is currently undergoing a multi-million pound regeneration project which include a new Cathedral Quarter, bus station and the already completed Mall shopping centre and new Blackburn Market.
The Blackburn Town Centre Partnership identified a BID (Business Improvement District) as an ideal mechanism to develop a dynamic business environment in Blackburn town centre.
The Blackburn Town Centre BID has the potential to raise £1.5 million over the 5 years, starting in 2014, to invest in local projects and services under these themes. This will be in addition to, and complimentary to, the services already delivered by the local authority and other agencies, and planned strategic investments in the area such as the Cathedral Quarter, new bus station and expanding college campus.
